Cooking Oil & Banaspati Price per Litre in Pakistan: Every Brand Ranked
Shelf prices for cooking oil are hard to compare because packs come in 900 ml pouches, 1-litre bottles, 3, 4.5 and 5-litre bottles and 10 or 16-litre tins. The honest measure is the price per litre, so that is how this list is ranked. For each brand we take its pack with the lowest price per litre that at least two stores have in stock today.
A few things to know when reading it. Banaspati (vegetable ghee) and cooking oil are listed together because most households use them interchangeably; banaspati is often sold by the kilogram, and a kilogram of banaspati is close to a litre in use. Canola, sunflower and corn oil usually cost more than blended cooking oil; whether the health claims justify that is your call, but the price difference is plain in the table. Desi ghee and olive oil are left out: they are different products at a different price level.
Prices move with palm-oil rates and the rupee, sometimes weekly. The ranking updates every day, so check it before a big stock-up rather than relying on last month's habit.
